What Minimalism Actually Taught Me

I gave away half of what I owned three years ago. For a while I thought that was the lesson. Fewer things, cleaner shelves, a calmer mind.

The real lesson came later. Once the clutter was gone I could see clearly which objects I actually used every day. The list was short: a mug, a chair, a lamp, a notebook.

Enough

Minimalism is not a number. It is the moment you can name what is enough for you and stop reaching past it.

I still buy things. I just buy them slowly, and I usually know where they will live before they arrive.
