Finding Beauty in the Everyday Frame

I used to save my camera for trips. Somewhere new felt like it deserved photographing. Home felt like something I already knew.

Then I started carrying the camera on errands. The post office, the bus stop, the corridor outside the library. Within a month I had more pictures I liked than from my last three holidays.

Familiar places

Familiar places hide in plain sight. You stop seeing them precisely because you see them so often, and a camera is a good excuse to look again.

Try it this week. Photograph the walk you take every morning as if you had just arrived in town.
