On Writing Letters Instead of Posts

For years I posted short updates to whoever happened to be scrolling past. Most of it disappeared within hours.

Last spring I started a weekly letter instead. It goes straight to the inbox of people who asked for it, and they read it when they have time.

A different audience

Writing for people who chose to hear from you is different. You can be slower, longer, more honest. You stop writing for the algorithm and start writing for a person.

The list is small. That is fine. I would rather be read closely by a few than glanced at by many.
