A Small Guide to Slow Travel

Slow travel is not a style so much as a refusal. A refusal to see six cities in eight days, to measure a trip by the number of pins on a map.

My rules are simple. Never fewer than three nights anywhere. Walk from the station when you can. Eat where the locals queue. Leave one full day with nothing planned.

Why it works

Staying longer means the second day is cheaper, calmer, and more honest than the first. You learn which café opens early and which street catches the evening sun.

You come home with fewer photographs and more memories. That is a trade I will take every time.
