Power Lines and Open Fields

I used to wait for the pylons to drop out of frame. Pretty fields, empty skies, no sign of the century we live in.

Lately I have started including them. Power lines across the evening sky, a tractor in the corner, a road cutting through the green.

Honest landscapes

A landscape with a pylon in it is more honest than one without. It shows the land as it is: lived in, worked on, connected to everything else.

There is beauty in that too, if you are willing to see it.
