We had planned to change trains and keep going. A delay gave us four hours, so we left our bags at the station and walked into town.
Old shopfronts, a high street with more bakeries than banks, and a harbour where the fishing boats still go out before dawn. We missed the connection on purpose.
Unplanned days
Some of the best places are the ones that were never on the list. They have no expectations attached, so everything they give you is a gift.
We stayed two nights. I still think about the fish soup at the place by the harbour wall.
